Ideas Are The Heart of Our Practice

As one of the nation's premier intellectual property law firms, our lawyers, most with advanced degrees in science and technology, and our full-time staff of Ph.D. scientific and technical advisors, lead the way in protecting ideas that shape disciplines ranging from banking and financial services, electronics and e-commerce to life sciences, pharmaceuticals and software. They are among the finest group of patent and trademark litigators and solicitors in the world.

Morgan & Finnegan attorneys have won two of the top 20, and four of the top 50 damage awards in U.S. patent infringement cases in history. Indeed, our record of success is unparalleled in protecting clients' intellectual assets in the United States and around the globe. Among our most noteworthy accomplishments are the damage awards we obtained in Procter & Gamble v. Paragon Trade ($178 million); Mobil Oil v. Amoco Chemicals ($120 million); and Stryker v. Intermedics Orthopedics ($72 million). Additionally, our attorneys achieved record settlements in Procter & Gamble v. Keebler, Nabisco and Frito Lay ($125 million) and Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, Inc. v. Baxter Travenol Laboratories, Inc., ($150 million). We have two of the top 25 significant patent infringement settlements in history.

Our clients -- domestic and foreign corporations, universities, government agencies, individual inventors and entrepreneurs, recognize the significance of our successes, and the value of our specialized expertise and resources. They trust us again and again to go the limit with matters that may at first glance seem clear-cut, but actually require a depth of understanding we can provide. We are backed by more than a century of winning experience, when it comes to defending client interests and providing comprehensive guidance. Client by client, we have established a reputation for insight, intelligence and rigor in providing the best advice possible, without compromise.

Morgan & Finnegan is an equal opportunity employer strongly committed to hiring, retaining and advancing top quality professionals of diverse backgrounds. We take pride in our firm's diversity as it reflects our core values of integrity, respect, fairness and excellence. The way in which the firm brings together individuals with diverse backgrounds and life experiences enhances our work environment, and our ability to apply a broad perspective in interacting with our clients.

Our primary office is located in New York City. We also serve clients from offices in Washington, D.C., which enhances our ability to conduct transactions directly with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals and the International Trade Commission. In addition, we serve clients from our office in San Francisco.
