MORGAN & FINNEGAN EXPANDS TRADEMARK PRACTICE

New York, NY, July 2008 – Morgan & Finnegan, L.L.P., one of the nation’s premier intellectual property law firms, announced today that Kandis M. Koustenis has joined the firm as a senior associate, Alan M. Sack has joined as of counsel and Jason Nardiello has joined as an associate. These moves will bolster the firm’s trademark and unfair competition capabilities.

Sweeney, a senior partner and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “They represent not only leading attorneys interested in joining Morgan & Finnegan, but will enhance and build our international trademark practice, which is second to none.”

Kandis M. Koustenis was formerly the worldwide intellectual property counsel for Toys “R” Us, Inc., headquartered in Wayne, N.J. While at Toys “R” Us, she was responsible for protecting the company’s global intellectual property portfolio, including all aspects of trademark, copyright, patent, trade dress, advertising substantiation and domain names. Ms. Koustenis is well versed in all facets of intellectual property law with a keen interest in trademark law. Ms. Koustenis has extensive experience counseling a wide range of corporate clients including consumer products, luxury goods and financial services companies. Ms. Koustenis also has substantial litigation experience, successfully litigating various trademark, copyright and false advertising cases in federal court and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She has also substantial experience working for some of the well known law firms in New York City.

Ms. Koustenis obtained her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude, in 1991, where she was a member of The Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics, and her B.A. in economics and French language and literature from University of Virginia in 1987. After graduation from Georgetown, Ms. Koustenis completed a federal clerkship in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Alan M. Sack, formerly of Hoffmann & Baron, has extensive experience in patent, trademark and copyright litigation, both domestically and internationally. He has handled all phases of practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including patent preparation, filing and prosecution, as well as appeals and interferences before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. He has handled patent and copyright protection of technologies relating to computer sciences and business methods; electronics; biotechnology; medical devices and chemical technologies; waste treatment; polymer molding and processing; chemical engineering; petroleum processing; films and fluid handling. Mr. Sack received his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1983 and an Alexander Fellowship at the U.S. Court of Customs and Patents Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He earned his S.B. in Life Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979.

Jason Nardiello founded an independent practice, Nardiello Law Offices, where he assisted clients with trademarks and other intellectual property issues in a wide range of industries including music and online media. Mr. Nardiello has a successful track record of litigating trademark and commercial litigation matters. He received his J.D. from New York Law School in 2001 and his B.S. at the College of New Jersey in 1997.

A significant portion of Morgan & Finnegan’s practice focuses on litigating trademark disputes involving logos, products and package designs. The firm has successfully represented Rolex, IBM, Steinway & Sons, Slater Electric, and Boselli Industrie Tessili, among others, in trademark and unfair competition lawsuits.
