Orientation and Training

The program offers lectures, seminars and formal training on a weekly basis, as well as strong mentor relationships. We recognize the commitment summer associates make to Morgan & Finnegan, and try to match it with high-level professional development opportunities that are both sophisticated and practical.

The firm invests in an extensive orientation session to provide comprehensive information about all aspects of Morgan & Finnegan, from internal operations to areas of practice. Throughout the summer, training opportunities are available and participation is encouraged. For example, a weekly luncheon lecture series focuses on the fundamentals of intellectual property law and takes a practical approach to such topics as Patent Litigation and Infringement, Litigating IP in the ITC, Discovery in IP Litigation, Federal Circuit Practices and Markman Hearings, Intellectual Property: What Engineers Need to Know, Preparation of Opinions of Counsel, and Introduction to Trademark and Copyright Law and Patent Prosecution.
