Pro Bono

Pro bono work at Morgan & Finnegan is voluntary, but attorneys are encouraged to accept approved pro bono work as a professional obligation and to accelerate professional development. Morgan & Finnegan attorneys have handled a wide range of pro bono matters, including appeals in criminal cases in New York State courts, federal civil rights litigation, political asylum cases and actions under the Americans with Disabilities Act. For example, we recently handled a matter in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on behalf of a bus driver challenging his employer's medical policies under the Americans with Disabilities Act. In addition, we are currently involved in an Americans with Disabilities Act case on behalf of a bus driver with multiple sclerosis. Morgan & Finnegan also provides pro bono legal services to numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Rainforest Alliance. In addition, our lawyers have served as special assistant district attorneys in numerous appeals.

Morgan & Finnegan is a member of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, and one of our partners sits on its board. We obtain pro bono work through NYLPI as well as through a number of other private and governmental pro bono programs.
